Supportive Arts Program | OTF Grant Boost

New Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) grant will boost our Supportive Arts program for adults 18+ with learning (dis)abilities We are so thankful to the OTF who's grant will help us grow this community program over the next 3 years!  Our goal with this program is the enrich the lives of our community participants through arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences.           Due to COVID restrictions and the compromised immune systems of some of our participants, they are not able to engage in road trips and come visit our facility at the Elora Centre for the Arts for phase one of this program.  The good news is, if they can't come to us (for now) - we will go to them!  We take our art instructors, staff and art supplies 'on the road' to Guelph and run the program twice a week at the Live & Learn day-facility!

    About the Course:
Based on my Conestoga College courses, this introductory level 8-week course is the first in a series of four courses that include Photography Skills - Levels 1 & 2,  Digital Imaging - Photoshop Levels 1 & 2, as well as single workshops such as Documentary Photography and The Photographic Art Form.

This first course of the series is suitable for those with no experience.  You will gain confidence with your camera to be able to shoot in any situation, and is the first step in learning photography skills that can take you beyond the hobbyist or amateur level.  We'll cover everything from lenses to exposure settings, as well as lighting, file formats, focus and much more.  You must have either a DSLR or advanced mirrorless camera for this course.

‘Everything in it’s right place”: an exhibition by Callie Gray

    October 7 - December 23, 2021
Have you ever had a moment in life where everything seems to be in its right place!? Like a painting where every element belongs; nothing to be removed, nothing to be added, it has arrived at that place where everything is right. But it’s not just about the painting; it’s about having this show, at this time, and in this place, and you reading this, and experiencing this show. It’s about positivity, well-being, and acceptance of all that is as part of one ‘Big Thing’ and everything is in its right place. My paintings are an intuitive culmination of all I have observed, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Currently I am surrounded by the beauty and majesty of the Elora Gorge and this is coming out in my artwork.
