Public Art

Elora Sculpture Project is an outdoor art exhibition running from May-October throughout downtown Elora and Fergus. An information plaque is presented with each piece and a separate map is available or visit www.elorasculpture.ca

Or pick up a paper map in the outdoor garden pathway at the Elora Centre for the Arts.

An outdoor installation on the side of the Elora Post Office building is the simple story of a letter written, sent and received, in three separate panels. The work, proposed by local artist Marilyn Koop was commissioned by the Post Office in the late 1990’s. Restored in 2013 by the Elora Arts Council as a memorial to Marilyn.

The Elora Portfolio, installed in the tourism office, was created by local artist Beverley Cairns. A.J. Casson, one of the Group of Seven, spent time in Elora from 1929 to 1931 creating a series of watercolours known as the “Elora Portfolio”. He referred to Elora as Ontario’s “most beautiful village”.

This finger pointer created by Scott McNichol, actually titled “Who’s in Charge”, moved into the Elora Greenspace in 2012 to become of the most photographed art features of Elora (located at the corner of Mill St. and Geddes St. in downtown Elora).
