Knife Making Demonstration with Forged Link

September 11 & 12 from 9AM – 5PM each day
The Ontario Artist Blacksmith Association proudly hosts a two day demonstration with Forged Link of Elmwood, Ontario in the outdoor greenspace at the Elora Centre for the Arts.
Guests will learn:
– Forging a Brut de Forge knife
– Full handle construction
– Forging a Siberian style Yakut knife
– Rat tail tang construction
– Pattern welded steel billets
– Plus much more!
Ticket also includes:
Artist Reception in the Minarovich Gallery on Saturday September 11th at 5:30pm (following public health guidelines for indoor gatherings)
Light refreshments and snack will be provided. Tickets are $95 (including HST).
Visa, Mastercard accepted. Please note Visa Debit is not accepted.
Participants are asked to bring their own water bottle (water will be provided). Please bring safety goggles.
About the Artist:
Forged Link, is Daniel Linkenheld. He has been forging now for about 18 years. Dan has taken local courses over the years through the OABA network. Dan has taken a course through Dean Piesner to create Japanese style swords as well as training in the US under the banner of the American Bladesmithing Society under Kevin Cashen and Joeseph Szilaski. In February 2012 Dan’s work was featured on the cover of Lee Valley tools this was the first time Lee Valley had ever featured knives on their magazines.
Dan is presently making knives and axes and teaches knifemaking on a one to one basis for safety and personal attention.
