Join artist and author Janice Mason Steeves as she talks about how an insistent dream she had while she was at an artist residency in Sweden, led to writing 'Bloom: On Becoming An Artist Later in Life'. Interspersed with stories of the 138 artists she interviewed, Janice shares her own journey to become an artist as well as the research she did into art and aging. While written with older artists in mind, this is an inspiring book about creativity for all ages and all mediums, whether music, writing, painting, or poetry.

Join artist Eileen MacArthur for an introduction to painting a botanical still life using acrylics. Looking at the works of Dutch masters for inspiration, students will learn about paint handling, value, composition, colour mixing, and creating shape and drama.
Eileen will also discuss glazing and how to unify paintings and create strong focal points. Students will go home with an 8×10 painting detail of a Dutch Still Life botanical.
