ART IN THE AFT! Half day open-air art camp

Join us for a week of playful creativity under our big top canopy tent and the big blue sky!

Each afternoon will be filled with nature-inspired creativity, outdoor art & craft making under our 1500 sq. ft. canopy, new friends and lots of free-range play perfect for a hot August week!

ART IN THE AFT! is led by ECFTA Arts Educators, Judy Anderson (Mon, Wed, Fri) and Sparrows Nest’s Stephanie Lines-Toohill (Tues, Thurs), along with the help of our Summer Student leader.

• Please bring a healthy snack and refillable water bottle.
• Dress for the weather each day and for getting messy!
• All materials provided.
• Students will be safely distanced at 6 feet apart at work stations under our open-air canopy.
• Masks are required for using the indoor washrooms (and if Public Health requires outdoor masking when 6 feet is not possible).
• Temperatures will be taken daily.

To ensure the health and safety of staff and participants, the ECFTA will have a limited number of children registered in accordance with Wellington Dufferin Public Health recommendations. Daily cleaning and social distancing will be in place to ensure that campers have a safe and enjoyable camp experience.

If classes are cancelled for any reason due to public health concerns, refunds will be given in full.

Please note: Parents/guardians will be asked to fill out a Release Waiver for a daily walk to Bissell Park and a Covid Liability Waiver.

**One Complimentary Camp spot is available for a family in need. This free week of camp has been generously sponsored by the Guelph Community Foundation.  This spot will be given on a first come basis by contacting Judy Anderson at programming@ecfta.ca by June 23. No documents required. Simply let us know!

Instructor Bios:

Judy Anderson is ECFTA’s lead Arts Educator and Programmer. With a fondness for shadowy story telling and the curiosities of childhood, Judy loves working collaboratively with children and has been bringing artful classes and camps to our Young Makers’ programs since 2017. Judy is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design and the University of Guelph BFA program.

She produces her own playful line of work inspired by the childhood imaginations deep within us all. www.kukucaju.com

Stephanie Lines-Toohill is the founder of Sparrow’s Nest Makerspace and loves to wander in forests searching for magic and making things from found objects. She has been leading mixed media Youth Art groups for over 15 years and is a team member of ECFTA’s Supportive Arts group for adults with disABILITIES.
