Pavilion Summer Concert Series at the Elora Centre for the Arts: Featuring Kyle Burton

Our fourth free concert in the series - come enjoy an evening of music with Kyle Burton on the pavilion stage at the Arts Centre!  It will be an evening of folk-country-americana-rock style music of childhood and today!  Inspired by the music of the Eagles, The Band, James Taylor, the Tragically Hip, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan and the Glorious Sons - it's sure to be a playlist you'll know and can sing along to. Kyle Burton has been playing guitar since he was 8 years old, and heavily influenced by his parent's music.  He spent a lot of time in the hardcore/metal scene in the early 2000's and started a hardcore band  for about 5 years.  At 25, he was drawn back to the folk-country-americana-rock style of his childhood.  He has been performing solo in the area ever since. ALSO HAPPENING!  A "reveal" of a new sculpture in the yard will also take place!  Join us as we unveil "Round & Around" - a moongate sculpture comprised of 101 salvaged bike rims.  Meet the artist, Jefferson Cooper, and take a photo under the archway!  The continuous flow of salvaged materials reminds us of the circular nature of life, and how together, we are greater than the sum of our parts.  It's also a visual reminder of the importance of cycling and getting out on the trails for our inner (and outer) health.

Pavilion Summer Concert Series at the Elora Centre for the Arts: featuring Woody Woodburn

Enjoy a Sunday afternoon in the yard of the Arts Centre, listening to the talented Woody Woodburn on the pavilion stage! From Mississauga, Woody cut his teeth on the Canadian music industry with his band in the mid 90's.  Drawn to the small town lifestyle of his roots in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, he now calls Rockwood Ontario home.  After many years struggling to find his place in the corporate world, he has now found a renewed passion and love for music - and it's more than Top 40.  The kind of melodies that linger in your head well after you've heard them.  Like listening to an old friend.  Woody is an unassuming, humble guy that will surprise you with his powerful voice.

Pavilion Summer Concert Series at the Elora Centre for the Arts: featuring Harry Lee Follon

Our final concert in the pavilion as part of our Summer Concert Series!  You won't want to miss the classic sound and memorable melodies of Harry Lee Follon on the stage!  And who doesn't love a fiddle and pedal steel!? With his thick grey beard and ubiquitous wide-brimmed hat, Harry Lee Follon looks like a man transplanted from a previous century. But that timeless image is the ideal reflection of his music—pure, honest songs that are as emotionally resonant in 2024 as they would have been in 1924.  His new album 'Uncle's Lament' was just released in June!  "The overall feeling while listening to Uncle's Lament is something close to sitting in a front parlour enjoying good friends playing music together" - Canadian Beats Follon's music is inspired by the likes of John Prine and Townes Van Zandt, although he says that he's also inspired by younger artists working in that tradition such as Jeffery Martin and Joe Pug, as well as fellow Canadians Spencer Burton and Zachary Lucky. And lucky you, this concert is also part of a BBQ Picnic at the Arts Centre - but you have to order meals ahead here.  Otherwise, just come and enjoy this free concert featuring the amazing Harry Lee Follon!
