Small hands can make BIG work in this week of thinking big and making bigger! Let’s look at the world around us through a new lens…a magnifying lens! In this thinking-big week, young artists will create monstrously sized insects that glide over the classroom; explore printmaking with the bountiful patterns found in nature; and join in a collaborative mural that takes its inspiration from the abstracted chaos of Jackson Pollock mixed with a kid-made Rorschach test.
Our Summer Camps are led by ECFTA Art Educators and our cheery staff of Summer Students. Our Campers will be working in 2 groups in both our studio Art Classroom and sunny Maker Space. The week will be a balance of guided art instruction, open-flow creativity and outdoor fun!
Meet Rae!
Rae Abel (they/them)
An artist, trained in Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo, Rae also holds a Montessori Teachers College diploma. Rae is currently enrolled in the B.Ed program at Laurier and brings a unique artistic appreciation and knowledge to all their teaching. In the past Rae has worked at the Clay & Glass Gallery as a programmer and teacher and has a passion for the arts and supporting all young artists!
