Adventure Speaker Series – presented by the Elora Adventure Film Festival

As part of the Elora Adventure Film Festival activities this year, they are offering an Adventure Speaker Series that you can sign up for in addition to film festival packages. Be inspired by the experiences and passions of other Adventurers in this interactive speaker series. There will be opportunities for Q&A, and engagement with others who share your interest in exploring, pushing boundaries, and living live to the fullest.
The Adventure Speaker Series will take place on Saturday November 9th, in the gallery at the Elora Centre for the Arts (75 Melville Street in downtown Elora). The location is walkable from the Gorge Cinema where the films are being presented. There are 3 speaking sessions to choose from, with dynamic presenters – pick one, two, or all three! Tickets are $12 per session.

“Out there” experiences with Ian Evans
Ian is the Founder of the Elora Adventure Film Festival and has embraced adventure all his life – from scaling the shed roof at aged 3 to skiing to the South Pole at aged 58. He has climbed 5 of the 7 Summits. cycled 5,000 KMS unsupported across Australia (twice) around the coastline of Iceland, to the Arctic Ocean, 8,000 kms across Canada and run 10 marathons.
The speaker is donating 100% of ticket sales from this event to the Elora Centre for the Arts.

Antarctic Expeditions with Scott Kress
Scott Kress has been exploring and guiding around the world for over 25 years. Scott is the 15th Canadian to climb the 7 summits, the 7th Canadian to ski unsupported and unassisted from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole, one of only 31 certified Polar Guides in the world, and a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society.

Stories of Expeditions and “Where the Falcon Flies” with Adam Shoalts
In this speaker series event, Adam will share stories and photos from his expeditions, and discuss his most recent book Where the Falcon Flies: A 3,400 km Odyssey from My Doorstep to the Arctic.
Professional adventurer Adam Shoalts has been called “one of the greatest living explorers” by the CBC and is a national bestselling author of five books. His best known journeys include crossing nearly 4,000 km of Canada’s Arctic alone and more recently paddling from Lake Erie to the Arctic.
