The Minarovich Gallery at the ECFTA transforms into miniature worlds of paper and shadow with the arrival of Chasing Shadows. Taking inspiration from Victorian inventions like tunnel books, stereoscopes, magic lanterns and zoetropes, Elly MacKay crafts rich cut-paper dioramas in shadow boxes layered with atmospheric detail and peopled with whimsical characters and ethereal flora and fauna.

An artist, author and illustrator, MacKay works from her home studio in Owen Sound. She was recently commissioned to produce the cover art for the new edition of the Anne of Green Gables book series.
