Satellite Learning & Art Stations for Students: Covid Response Program
February 10 @ 9:00 am - March 19 @ 3:00 pm
The Satellite Learning & Art Stations for Students program is for university, college and high school students who are remote learning in our community. The program utilizes three large spaces within the Elora Centre for the Arts – the classroom and the artisan shop are set up to offer socially distanced work stations where students can complete their school work, benefit from artistic and creative explorations, feel less isolated, and be supported by educational assistants (retired teachers) and staff from the Centre. The main gallery will be closed to the public in order to provide an artistic expression space for the students. We have enhanced our wifi to ensure students have internet access for their online assignments and Google Meets.
There is no cost to sign up, but registration is mandatory. The program runs Wednesdays and Fridays. There are morning and afternoon time slots (9:00 – 11:30 AM or 12:30 – 3:00 PM). There are a maximum of 8 students per room, each desk is at least 6 feet apart.
All necessary health and safety precautions will be adhered to, based on Public Health guidelines. Each student will receive a new disposable mask each day. Temperature checks and sanitization measures are in place.
