    A Fox or A Hare? What a fine pair! Learn the art of needle felting a FOX or HARE portrait. Your choice! Join fibre artist, Megan Cleland in a guided workshop to needle-felt your way to create your own woolly portrait of either a fox or a hare. Megan will talk about different transfer techniques, options for backgrounds, colour theory and the basics of dry felting with wool. The finished piece will be framed in a 10” embroidery hoop. A great way to learn a new skill that you can continue to develop and experiment with on your own. Suitable for any level of experience! $20 kit fee is payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class.     • ELORA’S LONGEST BBQ! Food Day Canada Community BBQ on the Bridge in Downtown Elora

    Location: on the Jack R. Macdonald Bridge in downtown Elora (not at the Arts Centre - but we will be at this event!  Come find us in the Kids DIY craft tent!!

    The pedestrian bridge will be filled with BBQs, picnic tables, local chefs, live music, seasonal food, and community spirit. There is also a beer gardens featuring local micro-brews and cocktails. As a throw-back to the very first "World's Longest BBQ" by Food Day Canada founder, the late Anita Stewart, this event will feature affordable delicious wholesome Canadian food open to all ages with a focus on education, celebration, and great community. " This is the opening line to Twelfth Night, one of William Shakespeare’s most merry of romps, abounding with live music, love triangles and lots of silliness!  Twelfth Night is a tale of unrequited love - hilarious and heartbreaking.  Twins are separated in a shipwreck, and forced to fend for themselves in a strange land.  Viola disguises herself as a young man and, under the name of Cesario, gets a job as a servant for the Duke, Orsino and they fall in love.  A festive, mischievous and witty play! Wake up the weekend in an immersive morning with Donna Hull and learn the drawing 101’s from an art educator with more than 30 years of experience teaching, both in the classroom and beyond! This 5-week series will focus on the wonders of nature, drawing beautiful, organic shapes such as shells and rocks, mushrooms, and root vegetables for the first 3-4 weeks and finishing with their choice of a naturalistic animal portrait. A Deer or Hare! Fundamental Drawing skills are woven into each weekly lesson and home play exercises are encouraged!
