GINKO WATERCOLOUR LEAF WITH HEATHER WADSWORTH
Discover the beauty of botanical illustration in this beginner-friendly watercolour workshop with artist Heather Wadsworth. Botanical painting is an art form that combines scientific accuracy with aesthetic beauty to depict plants, flowers, and fungi. Learn how to create accurate and expressive plant portraits through careful observation of the Ginko leaf.
Using three primary colours, you will explore colour mixing techniques to create a wide range of natural greens, yellows, and earthy tones, learning how to match the unique colours of each leaf. Heather will guide you through painting a beautiful Ginkgo leaf in watercolour while introducing essential techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry brush.
By the end of the workshop, you will have a completed botanical painting and a better understanding of colour mixing, observation skills, and watercolour application techniques.
Come ready to observe, experiment, and celebrate the beauty of nature through art!
Please note, there is a $15 kit fee payable in cash or e-transfer to Heather at the start of class.
All materials are included in the kit fee.
