THE JOY OF INTUITVE TAPESTRY WITH DIANNE KENNEDY CRUTTENDEN
Step into a world of color, texture, and creative freedom with Intuitive Tapestry Weaving. A joyful, hands-on workshop that invites you to break free from traditional weaving rules and let your instincts lead the way!
Intuitive Tapestry Weaving, moves beyond the rigid patterns and structures of traditional weaving to explore the freedom of letting your creativity guide your design. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced weaver, this workshop encourages you to trust your intuition and explore!
Diane says: “This is one of my favourite workshops. There’s always such a joyful energy as we play with all the colourful yarn and fibres. It’s amazing to see how different everyone’s tapestry turns out—and how much fun we have together!”
Through playful experimentation with yarn, fibres, textures and techniques artists will be encouraged to give themselves the freedom to explore tapestry weaving without restrictions.
As we complete our pieces in class, students will marvel at the uniqueness of each tapestry and take joy in the collaborative spirit of sharing and creating together. Diane promises a fun day!
All levels of experience are welcome. No experience necessary.
Please note, there is a $20 kit fee payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class. All materials included in the kit fee, including a large selection of beautiful yarns and fibres to choose from and a simple frame loom to use and take home.

Meet Dianne!

Dianne Kennedy Cruttenden has been weaving since the early 1970’s. Dianne first started teaching weaving in 1973 when she was asked by Canadian Arctic Producers to set up a studio in Kinngait (Cape Dorset) Nunavut. Dianne’s work has shown in numerous art galleries and exhibitions and her work is in private collections throughout North America and Europe. Dianne loves the journey of losing oneself in the tactile qualities of fibre, texture and colour, which is expressed in her work and workshops.
