PAINTING BASICS FOR KIDS! 4-WEEK SATURDAY SERIES

Artist Eileen MacArthur is back in the ECFTA classroom to lead a fast and fun, art-packed introduction to the basics of painting for young artists ages 8 +.
Eileen will offer guidance in observational painting techniques, transfer-methods, colour theory, value, brush handling and composition, and how to break a painting down into more manageable parts!
Students will complete a large observational still life as well as a series of studies and exercises. And we always love to look to various historical painters for inspiration!
Saturdays, Jan 11, 18, 25 and Feb 1, 2025.

Meet Eileen!
Eileen MacArthur is a practicing artist and arts educator with over 20 years of experience teaching art to adults and children at the Guelph School of Art, Studiohere and the Art Gallery of Guelph. She holds a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Guelph, and a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. Eileen is inspired by watching artist communities evolve and flourish! Eileen owns and operated the Arthur School of Art, an art school located in her studio at her home in Arthur Ontario.
