Let’s paint with yarn! Join textile artist Caitlin Barrie for a guided introduction to the traditional art of punch needle rug hooking! Join us for an immersive day and create your own a 9.5″ x 9.5″ vibrant punch needle rug inspired by Nova Scotian Folk Artist, Maud Lewis’s lively painting Tulips!
No experience is necessary,

Meet Caitlin!

Caitlin Barrie is a textile artist and designer who specializes in hand weaving, natural dyeing, knitting and rug hooking. Originally from Almonte, a small town in Eastern Ontario known for its rich history of Textile production; Caitlin developed a love for fibre at a young age, learning to knit and sew from her Scottish grandmother and Dutch Oma (grandmother). Caitlin holds a degree in Textiles from NSCAD University in Halifax, NS, and has been teaching textile classes and workshops for the City of Toronto for several years. She currently lives in Guelph, ON, where she is completing post graduate studies in Recreation Therapy.
