The smooth, flowing nature of circles offer a calming connection to nature. Join tapestry artist Dianne Kennedy Cruttenden in our bright and cheery workshop classroom for a creative journey into the portals of circle weaving!
“Caim” a Gaelic word that means protective circle, circles are an intrinsic way to live in harmony with the world and contemplate the many cycles that carry us through life; the sun, moon, seasons and the journey of life itself.
Dianne will share with you basic weaving techniques. Everything you will need to create your own 10” hoop ‘Caim’, will be supplied in the kit fee, along with a supply of natural and hand-dyes wools and organic materials. Artists will work towards a completed circle by the end of day! All levels of experience welcome!
Please note, there is a $25 kit fee payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class. All materials included in the kit fee.

Meet Dianne!
Dianne Kennedy Cruttenden has been practicing her art of weaving since 1970. Her work has been shown and collected internationally. In 1973 Dianne started teaching weaving when she was asked by the Canadian Arctic Producers to open a weaving studio in Kinngait, Nunavut (Cape Dorset). Dianne has enjoyed sharing her passion for weaving ever since.
Dianne is a member of the Woman’s Art Collective ‘The Octarines’. Their next exhibit “ Escape:Transcending Bounds’ will be featured at the Elora Centre for the Arts, March 27-May 11, 2025.
