Angela Lane
Angela Lane is an encaustic artist based in Thornhill, Ontario, whose work is inspired by the landscapes she explores while hiking, kayaking the lakes of Northern Ontario, and tending her gardens. After more than 20 years as a graphic designer in the advertising industry, and studies at York University and OCAD University, she discovered encaustic painting—a medium that became her artistic home.
Through layers of wax, pigment, and heat, Angela creates atmospheric works that capture the essence of treasured landscapes and invite viewers to complete the story through their own imagination. Since 2019, she has exhibited in more than 60 juried art fairs and gallery exhibitions across Canada and the United States, with work held in private and corporate collections in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. Passionate about supporting fellow artists, she has served in leadership roles with the Artists’ Network and Leslie Grove Gallery and co-founded Creative Adventures Events, bringing creative retreats to aspiring artists and non-artists alike.
Angela was recently one of our featured artists in our ‘ReWild’ gallery exhibition here at the Elora Centre for the Arts.
