Group Exhibition: ‘ReWild’
The Concept
We have assembled a small, curated group of artists whose creative practice is deeply rooted in the rhythms, textures, and wisdom of the natural world. ‘Rewild’ is a collective celebration of the many ways nature speaks through art – subtly, powerfully, and in endlessly diverse forms.
This amazing group of artists from across Ontario work in a range of disciplines, including 2D and 3D works such as watercolour, oil, acrylic, encaustic, ceramics, and sculpture, who view the landscape not merely as subject, but as collaborator. Whether it is translated through the stillness of the forest in delicate brushstrokes, shape clay that echoes the earth, or sculpt with foraged materials, the collective work becomes part of a larger conversation between art and the environment.
This is not simply a show about nature – it’s an exploration of interpretation, transformation, and connection.
We are thrilled to introduce you to Gina Jacklin, Angela Lane, Jana Osterman and Christina Preece – for a first-ever group show in our gallery! Gina is a Guelph artist who focuses on botanical wall sculptures, plant portraits and micro botanicals. Angela Lane, from Thornhill, in an encaustic artist with a focus on the wonder of trees. Jana Osterman is from Prince Edward County and creates sculptures formed by nature. Christina Preece, from Kitchener, is known for her rocky landscapes and seascapes. Each artist’s contribution reflects a unique relationship with land, material, and process, forming a connected dialogue of fragility and resilience, observation and imagination, stillness and motion.
An Opening Reception to meet the artists will take place on May 24 from 2-4PM (this is not the long weekend!). Click here for more information.

Gina Jacklin, Guelph Ontario

Gina Jacklin is a Colombian-born visual artist whose work captures the intricate beauty of the botanical world through a scientific lens. Her artistic journey, shaped by a lifelong creative drive, a cancer diagnosis, and enriched by a Fine Arts degree, has resulted in a fusion of science, art, and the Christian faith that aims to reveal the wonders of creation through a unique lens. Her art aspires to evoke joy, awe, and wonder in those who seek beauty in the unexpected. Often using micrographs or x-rays as reference material, her work offers a window into this mysterious and microscopic realm. Her process translates scientific renderings into sculptural artworks that showcase the wonder and imagination within the complexity and intelligent design at the root of nature.

Angela Lane, Thornhill ON

Angela Lane is an impressionistic encaustic painter whose richly coloured work reflects the awe, resilience, and interconnectedness of the natural world. She finds an ideal human narrative mirrored in nature—rooted in connection, regrowth, and energy.
Raised in Chatham, Ontario, Lane knew early that art would shape her life. After a 15+ year career as a graphic artist, she pursued fine art studies at York University and OCAD University, alongside extensive self-directed learning. Discovering encaustic painting marked a turning point, offering freedom, experimentation, and depth that continues to define her work.
An award-winning Canadian artist based in Thornhill, Ontario, Lane has exhibited internationally in over 100 exhibitions, with work held in private and corporate collections worldwide. She is deeply committed to arts leadership and education, having served in key gallery and arts organization roles, taught encaustic workshops, and supported artists as creative entrepreneurs. She works and creates from her own photographs, choosing images symbolic of our human journey that display atmospheric light and unique compositions.
“My work explores the uplifting effect of the landscape on the human experience. With a focus on Ontario, I capture the intimate details and magical atmosphere of our natural surroundings. Nature is paradoxically calming and energizing; I relish the challenge of translating smaller, overlooked details into paintings that celebrate the tranquility and vigour of the outdoors”.
