Let’s time-warp our way through Art History with artists Rae, Alexa and Stephanie for a week of time-travelling ART Exploration!
The old masters will meet their match when our young makers mix it up and learn some classic artmaking techniques! Try your hand at Mesopotamian Bas-Relief Prints. Byzantium Mosaics. Egg Tempera Animal Portraits. A Van Gogh Pop-Up. A Mixed Media canvas inspired by the Group of 7’s Lawren Harris!
Get ready for a multi-media-mash-up week of creativity, fresh air play & friendship!
This year we have expanded our March Break Art Camp and will be working in both our cheery Art Classroom and the sunny Sparrow’s Nest Maker Space.
Led by ECFTA Art Educators Rae Abel, Alexa Collette and Stephanie Lines-Toohill, the week will be a balance of guided art instruction in our art classroom and open-flow creativity in our maker space!
To ensure that your child is ready for a full day of art making and fun:
- A healthy mid-morning snack and lunch
- Refillable water bottle
- Dress for the weather and for making art!

Meet Rae, Alexa and Steph!
Rae Abel (they/them) is an artist, trained in Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo, Rae also holds a Montessori Teachers College diploma and brings a unique artistic appreciation and knowledge to all their teaching. In the past Rae has worked at the Clay & Glass Gallery as a programmer and teacher and has a passion for the arts and supporting all young artists!
Alexa Collette recently graduated from the BA program at the University of Guelph and has been facilitating workshops and camp experiences for the past few years and loving every minute of it! Alexa is a painter, drawer, loves creating murals, and collaborating with the community. She is excited to create a space for art-making!
Stephanie Lines-Toohill brings her magical mix of compassion, creativity, and mindfulness to everything she does. She reminds us to pause and find wonder in unexpected places. She helps us let go of our worries and to be brave. Steph also runs Sparrow’s Nest Makerspace, a collaborative community space of connection. You might find her on a forest walk where she finds calming inspiration and beautiful found objects. Stephanie has been leading youth art groups and community art opportunities for over 15 years. She champions the process of each artist as a curious explorer!
