Graduating with honuors from the prestigious Humber College Jazz Performance program\, Mike’s post secondary education also included part time classes in Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto and York University. \n\n\nDuring his post-secondary years\, Mike had the privilege of studying with a selection the finest jazz bassists in the world including Don Thompson\, Neil Swainson\, Dave Young and the legendary Ray Brown. \n\n\nIn the jazz world\, Mike has worked with many brilliant and accomplished professionals including David Braid\, Grant & Phil Stewart\, Reg Schwager\, Michael Occhipinti\, Pat LaBarbera\, Alex Dean\, Emily Calire Barlow\, Heather Bambrick and Mark McLean.   Equally proficient on electric bass\, Mike’s schedule finds him performing a wide variety of musical styles\, freelancing with many of Canada’s premier artists. In a diverse career that continues to showcase his talents as a consummate musician\, bassist Mike Pelletier’s unique versatility keeps him in demand. \n\n  \nSoprano Alexandra Lennox  has been performing with the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto for 24 seasons singing well over 150 productions in small roles\, understudying larger roles and as a full time member of the professional Chorus. Alexandra has a Vocal Performance diploma from the Royal Conservatory of music Glen Gould School\, a Vocal Performance BMus from the University of Toronto\,  and an ARCT in Voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music. A versatile singer\, dancer\, actor Ms. Lennox has won voice competitions and sung in television commercials for Shoppers Drug Mart\, Miller Beer\, Nescafe Coffee and Kraft Dressing. Operatic roles include; “Adele” in Die Fledermaus with TOT and Mississauga Opera\,  “Serpina” in La Serva Padrona with Barrie Opera\, “Musetta” in La Boheme with Co-Opera\, “Nellie” in Leo the Royal Cadet With TOT\, “The Voice” in Facing South with Tapestry\,  “Apparition” in Macbeth with COC\, “Strawberry Seller” in Death in Venice with COC and “The Cousin” in Madama Butterfly with COC\, and “soprano soloist” in The Nightingale with COC. Ms. Lennox has performed in musical theatre productions; as “Anne” in Anne of Green Gables\, “ Hodel” in Fiddler on the Roof\, “Liesl” in Sound of Music and many small and ensemble roles as both a singer\, actor and a dancer. Alexandra is a busy and sought after festival adjudicator. She has judged voice and choral classes at Pickering GTA Music Festival\, Kiwanis Festival of Sudbury\, Kingston Kiwanis Festival\, Peel Music Festival\, Arcadia Academy of Music Musicfest and Miriam Academy of music’s Music Festival. \nJuliette Alex Jones is an Ontario based composer & music director with a strong background in musical theatre and classical training. After graduating from Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program\, Juliette went on to compose and music direct for multiple companies\, festivals\, and clients across the GTA including The Musical Stage Co.\, YES Theatre\, Dandelion Theatre\, Nightwood Theatre\, and more. During the COVID-19 Pandemic\, Juliette found work as music assistant on the Netflix Adaptation of 13: The Musical by Jason Robert Brown where she worked alongside Broadway music directors Georgia Stitt and Lily Ling as well as Jason Robert Brown himself. \nJuliette started her music direction career while studying in college as the associate music director for The Threepenny Opera where she played\, conducted and arranged the show for a hodgepodge group of instruments played by the cast themselves. Promptly after the run of the show was finished\, Juliette was asked to music direct for Bravo Academy’s summer programs as well as for their regular season of advanced theatre troupe shows. Juliette also orchestrated and arranged Best of Hamilton Fringe’s show A Time of Future Tales and music directed Heresey for Paprika Festival and Last Year; One Year Later for Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. In her first year out of college\, Juliette returned to Sheridan as a voice teacher for the Preparatory Arts Diploma program and substitute taught vocal ensemble and vocal tech for George Brown Dance. Juliette also taught piano and voice for Bravo Academy and out of her own home studio. \nDuring her first stint of music direction in the GTA\, Juliette composed Flightpath for YES Theatre alongside theatre writing partner Griffin Hewitt and had the opportunity to have her first original show Peas\, Patrick & Parker produced for a 1 night reading at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Juliette also wrote the music for The Hands of Hypatia at Dandelion Theatre and wrote for Make Me A Song\, an educational initiative set up by The Musical Stage Co. Juliette is currently enrolled in the Scoring for Screen and Stage program at Sheridan College. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDerrick Miller was born and raised in Fredericton\, New Brunswick. He attended Acadia University where he studied Music and English. Derrick went on to Graduate school at the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. Roles included Gastone in La Traviata and Acis in Acis and Galatea. Mr. Miller played Tom Keeney in the US National Tour of the musical Funny Girl\, and performed in a season at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn\, NY in such shows as Camelot and Cabaret. Since moving to Toronto in 2001\, Derrick has been seen in The Sound of Music\, Les Miserables\, The Music Man\, among others.  Mr. Miller has also been a member of the prestigious Canadian Opera Company Chorus of professional singers since 2003. Derrick was the featured soloist at the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo for 6 years and has been in concert with the Saint Cecilia Concert Series and Opera Nova Scotia\, as well as with the Ceremonial Guard on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. In the Summer of 2010\, he recorded his second CD entitled “It Is Well”. This recording was nominated for 4 Music New Brunswick awards as well as an ECMA for Gospel Recording of the Year.

This Canadian painter is now based in rural Ontario where she is inspired by the visual splendor of her new home. DESCRIPTION:WINTER WEAVING WORKSHOP!  with Dianne Kennedy Cruttenden  \nSECOND CLASS ADDED! \nSATURDAY\, NOVEMBER 25\, 2023  |  9:30 AM – 3:30 PM \nAGES 14+  |  MAX 10 \nsold out\n$110 plus hst  *Please note\, there is a $30 kit fee\, payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class. \nJoin textile artist Dianne Kennedy Cruttenden for a full day of learning the basics of tapestry weaving! \nDuring this workshop\, students will be using 2 (canvas) looms.  In the morning students will work on a smaller canvas for a sampler of weaving techniques\, and in the afternoon the class will work on a larger canvas for their finished winter tapestry. Dianne will have winter theme designs participants can choose from or they may choose to do their own design. \n \nDianne brings her wealth of knowledge and spirit of adventure to this immersive 6-hour workshop. In this playful class you will explore weaving through a variety of tapestry techniques such as: plain weave\, rya knots\, soumack\, eccentric weave and irregular hatching. Perfect for anyone interested in the dark arts and learning a new skill! \nSource images will be provided. For anyone who has more experience or wishes to bring their own reference image/drawing\, this is welcomed. Join fibre artist Megan Cleland for a full day of learning the art of basket making and take home a beautiful hand-woven basket or bowl at the end class! \nIn this workshop you will learn how to make cordage from dried day lilies in the morning and in the afternoon turn that cordage into your own unique piece. \nYou will be ready to harvest or forage your own plant materials from your garden or nature walks this fall and hang to dry\, ready within days to create more hand-woven shapes to share with others! \n \nMeet Megan! \n \nMegan Cleland is a self-taught artist with a passion for felting. In 2000 Megan and her husband purchased a farm in Australia that came with 400 fine wool merinos. She started explored felting\, spinning\, and weaving for the sheer enjoyment of being surrounded by incredible fibres. Megan returned to Canada in 2008 and began to combine her love of portraiture and needle felting. Painting with wool to create realistic portraits and landscapes has been a natural progression from watercolour and pastel with exciting results. A Deer or Hare! \nFundamental Drawing skills are woven into each weekly lesson and home play exercises are encouraged! Our young artists will work on paper and be introduced to artist quality drawing materials and tools such as graphite sticks\, mechanical erasers\, tortillion blending sticks\, kneadable erasers and more! \n \nFor ages 8 and up. Please see more ** \nThis class is designed for all levels of experience and will be an introduction to the basics of acrylics. We will be completing in-class exercises and students will be encouraged to develop their own work at their own pace. We will focus on materials\, techniques and methods\, and we will also have time for individual and group critique. We will be looking at the work of historical and contemporary artists for inspiration\, while exploring a variety of ways of working. \nClass will be guided for first 3 weeks. We will be dividing our PA Day kids into 2 groups (ages 4-6 and 7-12) and working in both our cheery Art Classroom and the sunny Sparrow’s Nest Maker Space . \nLed by ECFTA Art Educators Alexa Collette and Stephanie Lines-Toohill. Our PD days will be a balance of guided art instruction & learning in our art classroom\, and open-creative exploration in our maker space. Along with outdoor fresh air and play during breaks\, as always! \n  \n\nAbout the Instructors \nAlexa Collette recently graduated from the BA program at the University of Guelph and has been facilitating workshops and camp experiences for the past few years and loving every minute of it! DESCRIPTION:FALL 2023 CLASSES  |  14-week series \nThursday mornings  |  September 14  – December 14\, 2023  | 10:00 am-12:00 pm \nWeekly inclusive ART & mindfulness THURSDAY WORKSHOPS for adults with (dis)abilities. \nsold out\n \nSUPPORTIVE ARTS is a unique program offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with varying abilities. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program\, led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coach. \nJoin us for a guided 2-hour workshop\, specifically designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session\, we will embrace diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  Supportive Arts is offered at a subsidized rate\, thanks to the Centre Wellington 100 Women Who Care and our Spring Fundraising Gala! \nMax. 13  |  Ages 18+ \n$252 plus HST for all 14 weeks ($18 per class) \nParticipants must register for the full season block. \nNo charge for support workers or caregivers. \n**Please note\, there is no refund for missed classes. THE ART OF NATURE CAMP! for ages 6-12 \nMonday\, August 28 – Friday\, September 1\, 2023  |  9 am – 4 pm \nMAX. 32  |  AGES 6-12 \n$350/week\, no hst | All materials provided \nsold out\nGo Green Go! Let’s gather together this August in our eco-art-friendly classroom and in the great outdoors for fresh-air creativity & fun designed to bring out the WILD artist in you! \nEach day will be filled with nature-inspired creativity\, fresh air play\, and nature explorations! \n \nMORE TREES PLEASE! Camp will be led by an ECFTA Arts Educator with our team of Summer Student leaders!  \nThis is an indoor-outdoor\, get messy day camp\, so please come prepared for a great day! \n\nA healthy mid-morning snack and lunch\nRefillable water bottle\nDress for the weather each day and for making art\nSunscreen or hat\nMasking is optional and left to your discretion. In the past Rachel has worked at the Clay & Glass Gallery as a programmer and teacher and has a passion for the arts and supporting all young artists! \n \nIF YOU CANCEL \nCancellations up to 7 days prior to start date will receive a full refund\, less a $25 administrative fee.
