This is a welcoming evening designed to support both personal practice and community connection. Come draw\, paint and reconnect with your practice alongside fellow artists! \n \n\nDraw from a professional nude model through a series of varying timed poses\, moving between quick\, energetic gestures and longer\, more contemplative holds.  \nThere is no formal instruction. Artists are free to work independently\, follow their own practice\, and use the materials and approach that suit them best. He is driven to develop new ways to have fun in the outdoors and finds joy in sharing what he learns.   His boat explorations have involved designing and building three boats. His first was the world’s first three part\, nesting\, skin on frame row boat. From there\, you will be introduced to Pyrography (woodburning) and guided through a short practice to explore the tools. Kissick will guide the artists through discussions on routine\, intuition\, hesitations\, breakthroughs\, and the deep internal shifts that inform their current bodies of work. DESCRIPTION:INTRODUCTION TO MINHWA  \nPEONY WITH HEEJUNG SHIN \nJoin Loops\, Layers\, Shapes & Shadows exhibition artist Heejung Shin for an introduction to Korean MINHWA painting! \nMinhwa\, meaning “folk painting” in Korean were paintings by and for ordinary people during the Joseon Dynasty\, 1392-1910. \nFeaturing bright\, bold colour\, symbolic and stylized forms\, and themes of good fortune\, health\, and happiness\, Minhwa is created on Hanji mulberry paper\, using pigment and brushes. You will go home with you own Peony (Moran) folk painting! \n \n\nIn this 2-hour workshop\, Heejung will; \n\ndescribe the history and symbolism of Minhwa\nguide students in preparing the paper\nlearn the use of traditional shading\, gradation\, colour layering and blending.\n\nPlease note\, there is a $15 kit fee payable in cash to the artist at the start of class.\nAll materials are provided in the kit fee; Hanji paper\, paints\, and embroidery frame.
