DESCRIPTION:LIFE DRAWING IN THE ATRIUM.  3-HOUR SELF-GUIDED SESSIONS WITH LIVE MODEL \nJoin us on the first Tuesday of the month for self-directed life drawing centered on creative flow\, shared space\, and working from the human form. This is a welcoming evening designed to support both personal practice and community connection. Come draw\, paint and reconnect with your practice alongside fellow artists! \n \n\nDraw from a professional nude model through a series of varying timed poses\, moving between quick\, energetic gestures and longer\, more contemplative holds.  \nThere is no formal instruction. Artists are free to work independently\, follow their own practice\, and use the materials and approach that suit them best. The atmosphere is respectful\, calm\, and centered on observation and creative focus. \nClasses will take place in the Atrium space. DESCRIPTION:Urban Paddling and Snow Sculpting – speaker & presenter:    Matt Morris \nMatt Morris is a community snow sculptor and small boat designer/builder based in Waterloo Ontario. He is driven to develop new ways to have fun in the outdoors and finds joy in sharing what he learns.   His boat explorations have involved designing and building three boats. His first was the world’s first three part\, nesting\, skin on frame row boat. Nadine is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo and holds the Turkstra Chair of Urban Engineering. This Minecraft-inspired world of pixel imagination is perfect for artists who love to block. \nWhether you’re a master builder or just love being creative\, artists Eileen MacArthur and Stephanie Lines-Toohill will guide this hands-on\, class blends art with the fun of the game! No gaming experience needed\, just a love for building\, crafting\, and storytelling! \n \nThis is a device-free workshop. \nOur PA Days are designed to inspire 36 young artists through a full-day of creativity and exploration! \nLed by ECFTA Arts Educators and student staff\, we will work in 2 groups in both our cheery Art Classroom and sunny Sparrow’s Nest Maker Space. DESCRIPTION:Pokemon kids! Back by popular demand. Artist Eileen MacArthur is in the house for a Saturday afternoon workshop celebrating the world of Pokemon! We will be making a Pokemon habitat using a variety of different materials and methods\, including drawing\, painting and sculpting! \n \nYoung artists will experiment with how to make existing or invented Pokemon figures and different ways to think about characters and the worlds they inhabit. We will also be learning some drawing techniques to render familiar characters in this Saturday of fun and friendship! \nThis afternoon workshop will include art-making and outdoor play\, so come dressed for success!  \nPlease bring along a nut-free snack and drink.

DESCRIPTION:Come join us in the atrium for a hands-on art experience inspired by the gallery exhibition Loops\, Layers\, Shapes & Shadows! \nTry out some of the creative techniques used by featured artists in the show at three interactive DIY stations—each with simple instructions and all the supplies you need to dive in and make art your own. Explore\, construct\, fold\, draw\, and reconstruct your way through playful activities designed for all ages and skill levels. \n \n✨ Highlighting Artists: \n\n\nDavid Brown – Fold! and Draw! \n\n\nLaurie Skantzos – Reconstruct! \n\n\nCreate something to take home—or leave your artwork behind as part of a growing community display in our new atrium windows! \nAll materials and instructions are provided. DESCRIPTION:A CREATIVE WORKSHOP FOR KIDS WITH ERIN PERRY \nGet ready for a deliciously fun art-making experience with no ovens\, no utensils\, and definitely no bites. In this playful hands-on workshop\, led by artist and educator Erin Perry\, young artists will explore the world of food-inspired art\, creating colourful\, imaginative treats that look good enough to eat but are made entirely from art materials! \n \nFrom sculpted sushi and glittery cupcakes to giant candy collages and faux sundaes\, this session is packed with creative projects that celebrate colour\, texture\, and whimsy. Kids will experiment with materials like clay\, tissue paper\, modelling paste\, foam\, beads\, and more as they build their own inedible masterpieces. \nWhether designing a full mini menu\, inventing a new snack brand\, or making a still life of pretend food\, participants will leave with unique artwork and big smiles. It’s all about imagination\, mess-making\, and the joy of playful creativity. \nCome hungry to make art that looks good enough to eat! \nAll  materials included. \n \n
