SUMMARY:PAINTING BASICS FOR KIDS! 4-WEEK SATURDAY SERIES
DESCRIPTION:Artist Eileen MacArthur is back in the ECFTA classroom to lead a fast and fun\, art-packed introduction to the basics of painting for young artists ages 8 +. \nEileen will offer guidance in observational painting techniques\, transfer-methods\, colour theory\, value\, brush handling and composition\, and how to break a painting down into more manageable parts! \n \nStudents will complete a large observational still life as well as a series of studies and exercises. And we always love to look to various historical painters for inspiration! \nSaturdays\, Jan 11\, 18\, 25 and Feb 1\, 2025.  \nPlease bring along a snack! \nContact us for more info!

SUMMARY:MIGHTY MATISSE! JANUARY PA DAY FOR KIDS
DESCRIPTION:From bright solid shapes to colourful painted still life florals\, we will ponder the beautiful and complicated inner world of French icon Henri MATISSE. Young makers will explore composition\, pattern and colour\, and learn about how artists tell stories with pictures! \nsold out  \n \nWe will also examine how artists’ work can change over time and how they find inspiration in new ways of using familiar materials.  \nOur PA days are designed to inspire 36 young artists! Led by ECFTA Arts Educators and student staff\, we will work in 2 groups in both our cheery Art Classroom and sunny Sparrow’s Nest Maker Space. \nPA days are a balance of guided-art instruction and open-flow exploration\, along with outdoor fresh air play as always! \nTo ensure that your child is ready for a full day of art making and fun! \n\nA healthy morning snack + and lunch\nAn afternoon snack will be offered to keep the energy going!\nRefillable water bottle\nIndoor shoes are recommended\nDress for the weather and for art making\n\nAt the Elora Centre for the Arts\, we strive to support ALL children who would like to attend our programs! We make every effort to accommodate the varying needs of all our Young Makers.
