DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Be*Spoke Festival – you are invited to attend this FREE speaker event in the atrium at the Elora Centre for the Arts! \n\n\n\n\nOverview:\nJoin us in the Atrium at the Arts Centre and listen to an expert who will help us build ideas\, connections and motivation!  There is no power greater for change than a community discovering what it cares about. And what we care about should be informed!  We are delighted to introduce Nadine Ibrahim! Nadine is an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo and holds the Turkstra Chair of Urban Engineering. She is deeply passionate about creating sustainable and livable cities and exploring the ways we can achieve this.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nAt the Future Cities Institute\, her efforts focus on fostering a community of practice among leaders\, aiming to enhance urban sustainability. Her work transcends various boundaries\, making her insights accessible to everyone. She says\, “I take a holistic approach\, looking at social\, cultural\, environmental and economic sustainability for healthy communities.”\n \n\nAdmission is free\, but please reserve your spot here.\n\n\n \n\nWhat is Be*Spoke?  \nBe*Spoke: A Tailor-Made Community is a festival grounded in the belief that the design of our public realm can meaningfully support healthier\, happier\, more connected lives. Built around Green Lanes’ four pathways—access to nature\, third spaces\, active transport\, and thoughtful urban design—the festival brings together community members\, partners\, and practitioners to explore how these ideas show up in our community and how we can shape them together. It’s an opportunity to reflect on what we’re hearing from the community\, share upcoming plans\, and spark collaborations that strengthen well-being across our neighbourhoods. \n  \n  \n
