DESCRIPTION:INTRODUCTION TO MINHWA  \nPEONY WITH HEEJUNG SHIN \nJoin Loops\, Layers\, Shapes & Shadows exhibition artist Heejung Shin for an introduction to Korean MINHWA painting! \nMinhwa\, meaning “folk painting” in Korean were paintings by and for ordinary people during the Joseon Dynasty\, 1392-1910. \nFeaturing bright\, bold colour\, symbolic and stylized forms\, and themes of good fortune\, health\, and happiness\, Minhwa is created on Hanji mulberry paper\, using pigment and brushes. DESCRIPTION:LIFE DRAWING IN THE ATRIUM.  3-HOUR SELF-GUIDED SESSIONS WITH LIVE MODEL \nJoin us on the first Tuesday of the month for self-directed life drawing centered on creative flow\, shared space\, and working from the human form. This is a welcoming evening designed to support both personal practice and community connection. Come draw\, paint and reconnect with your practice alongside fellow artists! \n \n\nDraw from a professional nude model through a series of varying timed poses\, moving between quick\, energetic gestures and longer\, more contemplative holds.  \nThere is no formal instruction. Artists are free to work independently\, follow their own practice\, and use the materials and approach that suit them best. The atmosphere is respectful\, calm\, and centered on observation and creative focus. \nClasses will take place in the Atrium space. A fun-filled half-day exploring art\, crafts\, stories and art history from Easter traditions around the world! \n \n \nLed by artist and Arts educator Eileen MacArthur\, this afternoon promises a joyful mix of hands-on creativity and cultural exploration. Artist will get busy with a variety of materials including felt flowers\, spring inspired paintings\, paper collage and decorated eggs. \nThe afternoon will include an outside play break to enjoy the signs of spring!  \nAll  materials included. \n \nPlease bring along a nut-free snack and drink.

DESCRIPTION:LIFE DRAWING IN THE ATRIUM.  3-HOUR SELF-GUIDED SESSIONS WITH LIVE MODEL \nJoin us on the first Tuesday of the month for self-directed life drawing centered on creative flow\, shared space\, and working from the human form. This is a welcoming evening designed to support both personal practice and community connection. Come draw\, paint and reconnect with your practice alongside fellow artists! \n \n\nDraw from a professional nude model through a series of varying timed poses\, moving between quick\, energetic gestures and longer\, more contemplative holds.  \nThere is no formal instruction. Artists are free to work independently\, follow their own practice\, and use the materials and approach that suit them best. The atmosphere is respectful\, calm\, and centered on observation and creative focus. \nClasses will take place in the Atrium space. In this introductory workshop\, you’ll learn the fundamentals of writing with fire as you explore mark‑making\, texture\, shading\, and safe tool use. Guided step‑by‑step\, you’ll create your own custom wood‑burned charcuterie board—beautiful\, functional\, and uniquely yours! \n \nWalnut Hallow brass tip burners and templates will be available for use.
