This is a meaningful time to pause\, reflect\, and set intentions for the season ahead. \nPyrography artist Heather Martin will lead a guided mindfulness practice to help center ourselves and connect inward. Using woodburning tools and intuitive art\, you’ll create a personal piece that reflects your current focus\, goals\, or feelings. The evening will close by taking time to set clear\, thoughtful intentions\, supported by the energy of the new moon and the unique symbolism of the eclipse. \n \nNo artistic experience is necessary—this is about the process\, not the product. Join this guided two-part workshop where you’ll explore the beauty of pyrography on paper. Learn how to create consistent lines\, intricate patterns\, and beautiful shading using burning techniques—all in a relaxed\, creative environment. No prior experience needed!  \n \nDay 1: Exploring Paper & Techniques \nBegin your journey into paper pyrography by understanding the unique qualities of various papers including Fabriano\, Arches and more. You’ll learn to choose the right paper—such as sizing\, weight\, texture of paper—to ensure optimal results. Techniques like stippling\, hatching\, and gradient burning will be introduced to add depth and texture to your designs. Additionally\, you’ll discover how to incorporate colour using watercolour to enhance your artwork. \nDay 2: Creating Artwork \nOn the second day\, you’ll apply the skills acquired to create a detailed pyrography artwork on professional paper in an 8×10 format. Guidance will be provided in transferring your design onto the paper\, executing pyrography techniques\, and layering colour. DESCRIPTION:eileenCelebrate Family Day weekend with artist Eileen MacArthur for a lively half-day Sunday workshop that blends creativity\, technique and artistic expression with a splash of Canadian art history\, inspired by the work of Group of Seven legend Tom T! \n \nYoung artists will be complete a medium sized painting using acrylic paint on canvas and explore how to make marks\, how to mix colours\, and experiment different brushes. Please send along a snack\, water bottle and dress for messy painting! We will be spending some time outside to play and observe nature. \n \nAll materials included. \nThe afternoon will include an outside break. Please dress for winter play! \n \nPlease bring along a nut-free afternoon snack and drink.

DESCRIPTION:LIFE DRAWING IN THE ATRIUM.  3-HOUR SELF-GUIDED SESSIONS WITH LIVE MODEL \nJoin us on the first Tuesday of the month for self-directed life drawing centered on creative flow\, shared space\, and working from the human form. This is a welcoming evening designed to support both personal practice and community connection. Come draw\, paint and reconnect with your practice alongside fellow artists! \n \n\nDraw from a professional nude model through a series of varying timed poses\, moving between quick\, energetic gestures and longer\, more contemplative holds.  \nThere is no formal instruction. Artists are free to work independently\, follow their own practice\, and use the materials and approach that suit them best. The atmosphere is respectful\, calm\, and centered on observation and creative focus. \nClasses will take place in the Atrium space. Each day will be bursting with games\, stories\, and hands-on creativity that celebrates the WILD wonders and beauty of our home—CANADA! \n \nWILD CANADA is all about letting your imagination run free! \nLed by our team of talented Arts Educators\, campers will paint like art-icon Tom Thomson and Canadian artist Kim Dorland\, make Canadian-inspired mixed media masterpieces\, create their own nature journals\, AND there are always time to make some new friends along the way! \n\n  \nCamp week is designed to inspire 36 young artists\, ages 5-12!  Led by ECFTA Arts Educators\, we will spend the week in our cheery Art Classroom and Sparrow’s Nest Maker Space.
