DESCRIPTION:FALL 2023 CLASSES  |  14-week series \nThursday mornings  |  September 14  – December 14\, 2023  | 10:00 am-12:00 pm \nWeekly inclusive ART & mindfulness THURSDAY WORKSHOPS for adults with (dis)abilities. \nsold out\n \nSUPPORTIVE ARTS is a unique program offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with varying abilities. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program\, led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coach. \nJoin us for a guided 2-hour workshop\, specifically designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session\, we will embrace diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  Supportive Arts is offered at a subsidized rate\, thanks to the Centre Wellington 100 Women Who Care and our Spring Fundraising Gala! \nMax. 13  |  Ages 18+ \n$252 plus HST for all 14 weeks ($18 per class) \nParticipants must register for the full season block. \nNo charge for support workers or caregivers. \n**Please note\, there is no refund for missed classes. December 2\, 9\, 16\, 2023  |  1-3 pm \nAges 7-12  |  Max 15  \n$90 no hst for all 3 weeks \nJoin Guelph artist Alexa Collette for some Saturday afternoon artful making in our cheery classroom full of inspiring ideas! \nThis 3-week series will be all about holiday creativity. Young artists will be encouraged to think about gifting and giving as a way to share their amazing imaginations with loved ones! \nProjects will include; making and decorating your own ornaments\, designing and carving lino blocks to make hand-printed cards\, and building mini cold-weather creature sculptures! \nAll materials included. \n \nMeet Alexa! \n \nHi\, my name is Alexa and I recently graduated from the BA program at the University of Guelph. I have been facilitating workshops and camp experiences for the past few years and loving every minute of it! I am a painter\, drawer\, I love creating murals and collaborating with the community. DESCRIPTION:GLOWING FORESTS  |  LIGHT & SHADOW \nACRYLIC PAINTING  |  with Vera Kisseleva \nSUNDAY\, DECEMBER 10\, 2023  |  12:30 pm – 4:30 pm \nAGES 16+  |  MAX. 12 \n$120 plus hst \nAll materials provided \nsold out\nJoin Artist Vera Kisseleva for a beginner-friendly workshop and discover the joy of painting vibrant forest scenes filled with luminous light! www.VeraKissArt.com \n \nIn this 4-hour workshop\, you’ll learn how to mix vibrant colors and use simple compositional rules to create stunning wooded landscapes. You will also learn how to work with reference photos\, to easily translate real-world beauty onto the canvas. \nVera will share some of the techniques she uses in her own work. After a quick demonstration through the entire process of creating a forest painting full of light and shadow\, you will have the opportunity to practice on a smaller canvas\, explore the possibilities of acrylic paint\, and refine your brushwork. You will then be encouraged to create your own 12″x12″ masterpiece receiving individualized guidance and feedback from the instructor. \nThis workshop is suitable for all levels. Beginners are welcome! \nSource photos will be provided. \nArtists are welcome to bring their own landscape photo if they have an image they would like to use for their work. All materials are included. \n\nMeet Vera! \nVera Kisseleva is an established award-wining artist best known for her paintings inspired by the Canadian landscape and nature’s dazzling colours that she believes are a great joy to experience and share with her collectors. Born in Russia\, Vera studied fine arts in college and worked for years as a graphic designer and commercial artist. This Canadian painter is now based in rural Ontario where she is inspired by the visual splendor of her new home. Vera works mostly in acrylics and uses bold\, vibrant colors in her work and thick brush strokes. Most of her pieces are done in her studio from a photograph and a memory of her recent nature encounters.
