We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program\, led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coach. \nJoin us for a guided 2-hour workshop\, specifically designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session\, we will embrace diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  Supportive Arts is offered at a subsidized rate\, thanks to the Centre Wellington 100 Women Who Care and our Spring Fundraising Gala! \nMax. 13  |  Ages 18+ \n$180 plus HST for all 10 weeks  \nParticipants please register for the full season block. \nNo charge for support workers or caregivers. \n**Please note\, there is no refund for missed classes. DESCRIPTION:WINTER LIGHT  |  ACRYLIC PAINTING   \n|  with Vera Kisseleva \nSaturday\, January 13\, 2024 |  12:30 PM – 4:30 PM \nAGES 16+  |  MAX. 12 \n$120 plus hst  |  All materials provided \nsold out\nJoin Artist Vera Kisseleva for a beginner-friendly workshop and discover the joy of painting shimmering winter landscapes filled with glowing colour and luminous light! www.VeraKissArt.com \n \nIn this 4-hour workshop\, you’ll learn how to mix vibrant colors and use simple compositional rules to create stunning wooded landscapes. You will also learn how to work with reference photos\, to easily translate real-world beauty onto the canvas. \nVera will share some of the techniques she uses in her own work. After a quick demonstration through the entire process of creating a forest painting full of light and shadow\, you will have the opportunity to practice on a smaller canvas\, explore the possibilities of acrylic paint\, and refine your brushwork. You will then be encouraged to create your own 12″x12″ masterpiece receiving individualized guidance and feedback from the instructor. \nThis workshop is suitable for all levels. Beginners are welcome! \nSource photos will be provided. Artists are also welcome to bring their own landscape photo if they have an image from which  they would like to work. All materials are included. \n\nMeet Vera! \nVera Kisseleva is an established award-wining artist best known for her paintings inspired by the Canadian landscape and nature’s dazzling colours that she believes are a great joy to experience and share with her collectors. Born in Russia\, Vera studied fine arts in college and worked for years as a graphic designer and commercial artist. This Canadian painter is now based in rural Ontario where she is inspired by the visual splendor of her new home. Vera works mostly in acrylics and uses bold\, vibrant colors in her work and thick brush strokes. Most of her pieces are done in her studio from a photograph and a memory of her recent nature encounters. DESCRIPTION:WinterSLEEP!  |  PA Day for Kids! \nFriday\, January 26\, 2024  |  9 am – 4 pm \nAges 4-12  |  Max 36 \n$70 no hst \nsold out\nBurrowing\, nesting\, hibernating. Let’s explore how our animal-neighbours spend the coldest months of the year through art in a creative and cozy day designed to celebrate the Canadian winter in us! \nThis school year\, we have expanded our PA Day program to accommodate 36 young artists! We will be dividing our PA Day kids into 2 groups (ages 4-6 and 7-12) and working in both our cheery Art Classroom and the sunny Sparrow’s Nest Maker Space . \nLed by ECFTA Art Educators Alexa Collette and Stephanie Lines-Toohill. Our PD days will be a balance of guided art instruction & learning in our art classroom\, and open-creative exploration in our maker space. Along with outdoor fresh air and play during breaks\, as always! \n \n\nAbout the Instructors \nAlexa Collette recently graduated from the BA program at the University of Guelph and has been facilitating workshops and camp experiences for the past few years and loving every minute of it! Alexa is a painter\, drawer\, loves creating murals\, and collaborating with the community. She is excited to create a space for art-making and exploration at the Elora Centre for the Arts! \n  \n  \n  \n \nStephanie Lines-Toohill brings her magical mix of compassion\, creativity\, and mindfulness to everything she does. She reminds us to pause and find wonder in unexpected places. She helps us let go of our worries and to be brave. Steph also runs Sparrow’s Nest Makerspace\, a collaborative community space of connection. You might find her on a forest walk where she finds calming inspiration and beautiful found objects. Stephanie has been leading youth art groups and community art opportunities for over 15 years.
