Botanical painting is an art form that combines scientific accuracy with aesthetic beauty to depict plants\, flowers\, and fungi. Learn how to create accurate and expressive plant portraits through careful observation of the Ginko leaf. \n \nUsing three primary colours\, you will explore colour mixing techniques to create a wide range of natural greens\, yellows\, and earthy tones\, learning how to match the unique colours of each leaf. Heather will guide you through painting a beautiful Ginkgo leaf in watercolour\, approx. 10″x10″ \, while introducing essential techniques such as wet-on-wet\, wet-on-dry\, and dry brush. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you will have a completed botanical painting and a better understanding of colour mixing\, observation skills\, and watercolour application techniques. \nCome ready to observe\, experiment\, and celebrate the beauty of nature through art! \n\n  \nPlease note\, there is a $15 kit fee payable in cash or e-transfer to Heather at the start of class.  \nAll materials are included in the kit fee. \n

Working from one of the Group of Seven most celebrated landscapes\, students will explore the techniques and artistic choices that make this artist so powerful and enduring. \n \nThrough guided\, participants will develop skills in colour mixing\, brushwork\, and landscape interpretation.
