DESCRIPTION:AFTER THE GROUP OF SEVEN. OIL PAINTING WITH RICK WORTHINGTON \nSpend the day painting in the tradition of one of Canada’s most celebrated artists. Guided by artist Rick Worthington\, students will study and recreate Clarence Gagnon’s 1922 painting After the Storm\, gaining valuable insight into the techniques that made his winter landscapes so enduring. \n \nAlong the way\, we’ll examine Gagnon’s masterful use of colour\, value\, and composition to convey the beauty of rural Quebec following a fresh snowfall. Discover how he transformed an ordinary winter landscape into a painting rich with warmth\, character\, and a strong sense of place. \nSuitable for adventurous beginners with some painting experience as well as intermediate artists seeking to strengthen their landscape painting skills. \n\n  \nPLEASE NOTE: \n\nStudents are welcome to bring their own supplies\, or a $25 material kit will be available for purchase\, payable in cash to Rick at the start of class.\n\n\nRick will contact students with a recommended materials list; oil paint\, a canvas\, odourless solvent\, paper towel\, brushes\, etc\n$25 Kit Fee Option includes oil paint\, a canvas\, odourless solvent\, reference image\, grey scale for colour mixing\, brushes etc.\n\n  \n

Through guided instruction\, capture the beauty of a carefully composed still life designed to help you build confidence while exploring the beautiful qualities of watercolour! \n \nThroughout the class\, artists will learn a variety of essential techniques including colour mixing\, creating form and depth\, observing light & shadow\, and developing realistic textures while preserving the transparency and luminosity that make watercolour so unique. \nBy the end of the session\, students will complete an approx. 12″ x 12″ painting and gain valuable skills to apply to future projects. \nPerfect for beginners\, this class offers a fun and supportive environment to learn\, experiment\, and enjoy the creative process! \nCome ready to observe\, experiment\, and celebrate the beauty of nature through art! \n\n  \nPlease note\, there is a $15 kit fee payable in cash or e-transfer to Heather at the start of class.  \nAll materials are included in the kit fee. \n
