Where opportunities to support the voices of our community groups are nurtured from the ground up! \n \nIn the Nest\, we believe that creative expression nurtures well-being and connection to others and we understand that healthy communities need inclusive spaces away from home\, work and school for connection and creativity! \n  \n\n  \nTEA SOCIAL FRIDAYS WITH STEPHANIE LINES-TOOHILL \nEVERY FRIDAY 10.30 am – 12.30pm \nSeptember-June.  No need to register. \n$10 cash. DESCRIPTION:SUPPORTIVE ARTS FALL \nTHURSDAY MORNINGS \n10 AM – 12 PM \nSEPTEMBER 18-DECEMBER 18\, 2025   \nWeekly\, inclusive art & mindfulness classes for adults with varying abilities.  \nJoin us Sept to June for weekly guided 2-hour workshops designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session embraces diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  \n \nSUPPORTIVE ARTS is a unique program offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with varying abilities. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program\, led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coach. \nOur bright and cheerful ECFTA classroom is wheelchair accessible and accommodates up to 14 participants\, with accompanying support workers and volunteers. \nThe 2025 Supportive Arts season is supported by; \n\nWC Wood Foundation\nRotary Club of Fergus/Elora\nThe Township of Centre Wellington\nThe Foot Family Fund\nMarjorie and Joseph Wright Memorial Foundation\nAnd many generous individual donors from our community\n\nWe thank you! \n\n  \nREFUNDS There are no refunds for missed classes. DESCRIPTION:MONDAY AFTERNOON 6-WEEK SERIES \nJoin us Mondays 1 pm-3:00 pm this Fall! Open Studio is designed as open-flow studio time\, loosely guided by artist Eileen MacArthur for artists who have some experience and would like specific guidance to develop or resolve their work. Classes will be collaborative and relaxed and offer both individual and group critiques\, as well as affording the students to opportunity to experiment with various methods and materials. \n \nEach week will start with a guided exercise for students to develop their critical thinking and studio practice. Week one students will start with some warm-up exercises\, make a material list and be asked to shop for their supplies for weeks 2-6. Materials will be provided for week one. \nAll methods and mediums welcome. \nPlease note there is a minimum of 7 students required to run this class. \nAll levels of ability and experience are encouraged! \nContact us for more info!

SUMMARY:WRITING WITH FIRE. PAPER PYROGRAPHY
DESCRIPTION:SAT + SUN AFTERNOON WORKSHOP WITH HEATHER MARTIN  \n \nDiscover the Art of Wood Burning on Paper! Join this guided two-part workshop where you’ll explore the beauty of pyrography on paper. Learn how to create consistent lines\, intricate patterns\, and beautiful shading using burning techniques—all in a relaxed\, creative environment. No prior experience needed!  \n \nDay 1: Exploring Paper & Techniques \nBegin your journey into paper pyrography by understanding the unique qualities of various papers including Fabriano\, Arches and more. You’ll learn to choose the right paper—such as sizing\, weight\, texture of paper—to ensure optimal results. Techniques like stippling\, hatching\, and gradient burning will be introduced to add depth and texture to your designs. Additionally\, you’ll discover how to incorporate colour using watercolour to enhance your artwork. \nDay 2: Creating Artwork \nOn the second day\, you’ll apply the skills acquired to create a detailed pyrography artwork on professional paper in an 8×10 format. Guidance will be provided in transferring your design onto the paper\, executing pyrography techniques\, and layering colour. The session culminates in producing a piece suitable for framing\, allowing you to showcase your new skills. \nPlease note\, there is a $15 kit fee\, payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class.  \nAll materials are included in the kit fee. \n*artwork credit Janna Lindsay \n
