DESCRIPTION:FALL 2023 CLASSES  |  14-week series \nThursday mornings  |  September 14  – December 14\, 2023  | 10:00 am-12:00 pm \nWeekly inclusive ART & mindfulness THURSDAY WORKSHOPS for adults with (dis)abilities. \nsold out\n \nSUPPORTIVE ARTS is a unique program offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with varying abilities. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program\, led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coach. \nJoin us for a guided 2-hour workshop\, specifically designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session\, we will embrace diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  Supportive Arts is offered at a subsidized rate\, thanks to the Centre Wellington 100 Women Who Care and our Spring Fundraising Gala! \nMax. 13  |  Ages 18+ \n$252 plus HST for all 14 weeks ($18 per class) \nParticipants must register for the full season block. \nNo charge for support workers or caregivers. \n**Please note\, there is no refund for missed classes. DESCRIPTION:ACRYLIC PAINTING with Eileen MacArthur   \n 6-week THURSDAY STUDIO series \nEvery Thursday  |  October 5 – November 9\, 2023 \n7:00 pm-8:30 pm \n Ages 14+  |  MAX 12 \n$150 + hst for all 6 weeks ($25 per session) \nsold out\nSome materials provided. Please see more ** \nThis class is designed for all levels of experience and will be an introduction to the basics of acrylics. We will be completing in-class exercises and students will be encouraged to develop their own work at their own pace. We will focus on materials\, techniques and methods\, and we will also have time for individual and group critique. We will be looking at the work of historical and contemporary artists for inspiration\, while exploring a variety of ways of working. \nClass will be guided for first 3 weeks. The second half of course will be guided in first part\, working time and feedback in second half of class. \nThis class will be fun and friendly and we encourage artists to engage with other students in the class. \nAll skill levels and experience are welcome! \n \n*Supplies provided for in class exercises for the first 3 weeks. \n**A minimal supply list will be provided for the final 3 weeks for students to bring to class. \nEileen offers a welcoming and collaborative environment for all skill levels to learn from one another\, while developing their own individual art practice. \nMeet Eileen! \nEileen MacArthur is a practicing artist and arts educator with over 15 years of experience teaching art to adults and children at the Elora Centre for the Arts\, the Guelph School of Art\, Studiohere and the Art Gallery of Guelph. She holds a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Guelph\, and a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. Eileen is inspired by watching artist communities evolve and flourish! Eileen has been an ongoing Arts Educator at the Elora Centre for the Arts as part of our Supportive Arts program for adults with (dis)abilities. She is also our lead Arts Educator for our Youth Outreach program “Connecting to Community Through Art” that supports high school and elementary students in the M.I.D and Life Skills programs\, helping them feel connected to their community through art projects that spark conversation\, awareness and belonging. \nEileen owns and operates the Arthur School of Art\, an art school located in her studio at her home in Arthur Ontario. \nhttps://www.eileenmacarthur.com/   https://www.arthurschoolofart.com/ \n\n \nIF YOU CANCEL \nCancellations up to 14 days prior to start date will receive a full refund\, less a $25 administrative fee. DESCRIPTION:EMBROIDERY BASICS with Ahmri Vandeborne \nSATURDAY\, OCT 7\, 2023  |  1:30 pm-3:30 pm \nAGES 12+  |  MAX 20 \n$30 plus hst \n*please note\, a $10 kit fee is payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class. \nJoin Ahmri Vandeborne from Otherwise Studios for a beginners’ textile workshop! Participants will learn how to take their idea or source image from paper onto fabric in this introductory embroidery workshop. They will gain the knowledge of 8 hand-embroidery stitches that can be used to embellish their desired image on a 4” embroidery hoop. \n \nSince embroidery is a slow and mindful practice\, this workshop is designed to teach the basic skills and encourage participants to finish their design at home. All materials supplied. No experience necessary. \n**Kit fee covers all materials including embroidery hoop\, embroidery needle\, fabric\, thread\, and instructional guide. \nMeet Ahmri! \n \nAhmri Vandeborne (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist\, curious-hearted collaborator\, and community facilitator.
