DESCRIPTION:SUPPORTIVE ARTS FALL \nTHURSDAY MORNINGS \n10 AM – 12 PM \nSEPTEMBER 18-DECEMBER 18\, 2025   \nWeekly\, inclusive art & mindfulness classes for adults with varying abilities.  \nJoin us Sept to June for weekly guided 2-hour workshops designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session embraces diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  \n \nSUPPORTIVE ARTS is a unique program offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with varying abilities. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program\, led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coach. \nOur bright and cheerful ECFTA classroom is wheelchair accessible and accommodates up to 14 participants\, with accompanying support workers and volunteers. \nThe 2025 Supportive Arts season is supported by; \n\nWC Wood Foundation\nRotary Club of Fergus/Elora\nThe Township of Centre Wellington\nThe Foot Family Fund\nMarjorie and Joseph Wright Memorial Foundation\nAnd many generous individual donors from our community\n\nWe thank you! \n\n  \nREFUNDS There are no refunds for missed classes. A joyful\, hands-on workshop that invites you to break free from traditional weaving rules and let your instincts lead the way!\nIntuitive Tapestry Weaving\, moves beyond the rigid patterns and structures of traditional weaving to explore the freedom of letting your creativity guide your design. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced weaver\, this workshop encourages you to trust your intuition and explore! \n \nDiane says: “This is one of my favourite workshops. There’s always such a joyful energy as we play with all the colourful yarn and fibres. It’s amazing to see how different everyone’s tapestry turns out—and how much fun we have together!” \nThrough playful experimentation with yarn\, fibres\, textures and techniques artists will be encouraged to give themselves the freedom to explore tapestry weaving without restrictions. \nAs we complete our pieces in class\, students will marvel at the uniqueness of each tapestry and take joy in the collaborative spirit of sharing and creating together. LAWREN HARRIS\, AUTUMN ALGOMA 1920 \nJoin this beginner to intermediate oil panting workshop with artist Rick Worthington to create a master copy of Lawren Harris’s painting\, Autumn Algoma\, 1920. In this vibrant early work\, Harris captures the bold colour and structure of the Northern Ontario landscape in fall—golden foliage\, sculptural trees\, and luminous sky.  \n\nCopying a master’s work is one of the most effective ways to deepen your understanding of technique and style.
 In this class\, you’ll learn how to break the landscape into simplified shapes\, explore Harris’s rich yet balanced autumn palette\, build strong colour harmony\, and apply confident brushwork to evoke light and form while staying true to his stylized approach. \nWith personalized instruction and demonstrations\, you’ll gain practical tools to strengthen your own painting practice! \nPlease note\, there is a $25 kit fee payable in cash to the instructor at the start of class.\nAll materials are provided in the kit fee. \nKit fee includes oil paint\, a canvas\, odourless solvent\, reference\nimage\, grey scale for colour mixing\, brushes etc

DESCRIPTION:MONDAY AFTERNOON 6-WEEK SERIES \nJoin us Mondays 1 pm-3:00 pm this Fall! Open Studio is designed as open-flow studio time\, loosely guided by artist Eileen MacArthur for artists who have some experience and would like specific guidance to develop or resolve their work. Classes will be collaborative and relaxed and offer both individual and group critiques\, as well as affording the students to opportunity to experiment with various methods and materials. \n \nEach week will start with a guided exercise for students to develop their critical thinking and studio practice. Week one students will start with some warm-up exercises\, make a material list and be asked to shop for their supplies for weeks 2-6.
