SUMMARY:Supportive Arts Program for Young Adults with (dis)Abilities - Fall 2022 to Spring 2023
DESCRIPTION:An inclusive\, all abilities art and mindfulness workshop for young adults with (dis)abilities 18+ \nSUPPORTIVE ARTS is a unique program supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation\, offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with (dis)abilities living in the community. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program. Led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coaches.  The Supportive Arts program has now expanded to 4 sessions per week. \nTHE PROGRAM: Join us for a guided 2-hour workshop\, specifically designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session\, we will embrace diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  Supportive Arts is offered free of charge to all participants and support companions\, thanks to the generous support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. \n \n \nFALL 2022 – SPRING 2023 \nWe offer four\, 2-hour sessions per week\, Mondays\, Wednesdays and Thursdays\, between Sept and June. \nOUR SPACE: Our bright and cheerful ECFTA classroom is wheelchair accessible and adheres to all WDGPH covid-19 protocols.  In warm temperatures\, we may run programming outside in our 1500 square foot big top tent! \nPlease contact us for more information about the program or for availability in our Supportive Arts program! \nVisit our Facebook page for photos and weekly updates! \n\nLOOKING TO VOLUNTEER? \nWe are welcoming new volunteers for our Fall 2022- 2023 season! If you looking for a way to meaningfully engage with your community and have a couple hours a week to assist one of our Supportive Arts’ participants in our cheery studio classroom setting\, please contact us! \n\nOTF Grant Boost:  The Ontario Trillium Foundation has supported this program with a 3-year grant boost\, allowing us to offer additional classes each year.  Our 2021 Fall program has expanded to 3 workshops a week\, with plans to expand to 4 times a week in the fall of 2022. \n  \nThe Ontario Trillium Foundation investment in this project will support positive change in our community to make it healthier and more vibrant over the next 3 years. SUMMARY:LOOSE DUTCH FLORAL ACRYLIC! PAINTING IN THE ROUND WITH EILEEN MACARTHUR
DESCRIPTION:LOOSE DUTCH FLORAL ACRYLIC!  \nPAINTING IN THE ROUND with EILEEN MACARTHUR  \nFOR AGES 16+ | MAX. 10 \nSaturday\, February 18\, 2023 | 10 am – 3 pm \n$130 plus HST | All materials included \nsold out\nJoin artist Eileen MacArthur for a light and loose\, guided workshop\, with focus on creating a tondo floral composition using multiple found sources for inspiration and a conte transfer to get started! \nEileen will lead you in the steps to create a 2-foot diameter\, original acrylic on a round MDF panel. Explore colour mixing\, the figure-ground relationship\, and elements of composition. During the course of the day\, artists will also delve into various techniques of representational painting\, loosely based in the Dutch floral tradition\, and try out several brushes and methods of paint application. \nAll levels of experience welcome! \n \nAll materials are supplied\, including tondo panel and acrylics. \nArtists are encouraged to bring any specific materials (brushes\, paint colours) they may wish to use or explore with Eileen. \nEileen MacArthur is a practicing artist and arts educator with over 15 years of experience teaching art to adults and children at the Elora Centre for the Arts\, the Guelph School of Art\, Studiohere and the Art Gallery of Guelph. She holds a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Guelph\, and a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. Eileen is inspired by watching artist communities evolve and flourish! Eileen has been an ongoing Arts Educator at the Elora Centre for the Arts as part of our Supportive Arts program for adults with (dis)abilities. She is also our lead Arts Educator for our Youth Outreach program “Connecting to Community Through Art” that supports high school and elementary students in the M.I.D and Life Skills programs\, helping them feel connected to their community through art projects that spark conversation\, awareness and belonging. \nEileen owns and operates the Arthur School of Art\, an art school located in her studio at her home in Arthur Ontario. \nhttps://www.eileenmacarthur.com/  \nwww.arthurschoolofart.com \nInstagram @eileenmacarthurartist \n \nIF YOU CANCEL \nCancellations up to 7 days prior to start date will receive a full refund\, less a $25 administrative fee.
