SUMMARY:Knife Making Demonstration with Forged Link
DESCRIPTION:September 11 & 12 from 9AM – 5PM each day   \nThe Ontario Artist Blacksmith Association proudly hosts a two day demonstration with Forged Link of Elmwood\, Ontario in the outdoor greenspace at the Elora Centre for the Arts. \nGuests will learn:\n– Forging a Brut de Forge knife\n– Full handle construction\n– Forging a Siberian style Yakut knife\n– Rat tail tang construction\n– Pattern welded steel billets\n– Plus much more! \nTicket also includes:\nArtist Reception in the Minarovich Gallery on Saturday September 11th at  5:30pm (following public health guidelines for indoor gatherings)\nLight refreshments and snack will be provided.  Tickets are $95 (including HST). \nVisa\, Mastercard accepted. Please note Visa Debit is not accepted. \nParticipants are asked to bring their own water bottle (water will be provided).  Please bring safety goggles. \n \nAbout the Artist:\nForged Link\, is Daniel Linkenheld. He has been forging now for about 18 years. Dan has taken local courses over the years through the OABA network. Dan has taken a course through Dean Piesner to create Japanese style swords as well as training in the US under the banner of the American Bladesmithing Society under Kevin Cashen and Joeseph Szilaski. In February 2012 Dan’s work was featured on the cover of Lee Valley tools this was the first time Lee Valley had ever featured knives on their magazines. \nDan is presently making knives and axes and teaches knifemaking on a one to one basis for safety and personal attention. \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Supportive Arts Program for Adults with (dis)Abilities - Fall Program
DESCRIPTION:An inclusive\, all abilities art and mindfulness workshop for adults with (dis)abilities 18+\nSUPPORTIVE ARTS is a unique program supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation\, offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with (dis)abilities living in the community. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program. Led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coaches.  The Supportive Arts Fall 2021 program has expanded to 3 sessions per week. \nPlease note that our 14-week Fall Session is currently full due to covid restrictions\, however as public health guidelines allow for more participants we will allow more.  Please see contact information below regarding out wait list. \nTHE PROGRAM: Join us for a guided 2-hour workshop\, specifically designed to support adults of all abilities. Each session\, we will embrace diversity and friendship through explorations in art making\, movement\, mindfulness and music. Every week is as unique as each of our participants!  Supportive Arts is offered free of charge to all participants and support companions\, thanks to the generous support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. \n \n \n  \n  \n  \nSupport workers or family members are welcome if assistance is required. \nThe Fall 2021 program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays\, 3 sessions per week. \nOUR SPACE: Our bright and cheerful ECFTA classroom is wheelchair accessible and adheres to all WDGPH covid-19 protocols.  In warm temperatures\, we may run programming outside in our 1500 square foot big top tent! \nCONTACT:  Please contact Judy at programming@ecfta.ca for more information\, or to be placed on our waiting list for our Winter/Spring sessions. \nVisit our Facebook page for photos and weekly updates! \nCOVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS: \n\nIf in-person classes are cancelled due to public health concerns\, we will revert to virtual programming.\nProof of Covid-19 double vaccination is required to attend the workshops\, in accordance with the Province of Ontario and our local Public Health unit.\nTo ensure the health and safety of staff and participants\, the ECFTA will have a limited the number of registrants in accordance with WDGPH recommendations.
