Supportive Arts Program for Young Adults with (dis)Abilities

February 2, 2021 @ 10:00 am - June 18, 2021 @ 12:00 pm

About the Project:

Supportive Arts is a unique program offering arts-based learning opportunities and compelling artistic experiences to individuals with disabilities living in the community. We welcome adults and caregivers from Wellington County and the surrounding areas to our weekly program. Led by ECFTA Arts Educators and Mindfulness Coaches, Supportive Arts runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings from September to June.

This past year, we have conducted both “live and in-person” as well as “virtual” sessions for our participants. Currently, due to Covid-19 restrictions, Supportive Arts is being offered through our partner’s facility at Live & Learn in Guelph.

This Fall, our goal is to return to in-person sessions in our accessible classroom setting at the Elora Centre for the Arts.

If you know of someone who may be interested in joining us for a Tuesday or Thursday morning session in the Fall, or for more information about the program, please email us at programming@ecfta.ca

Visit our Facebook page for photos and weekly updates!

OTF Grant Boost:  The Ontario Trillium Foundation has supported this program with a 3-year grant boost, allowing us to offer additional classes each year.  We are currently offering 2 workshops a week.  In the second year of the program, we will grow to 3 workshops a week, and the third year it expands to four workshops a week.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation investment in this project will support positive change in our community to make it healthier and more vibrant over the next 3 years.
