Neighbourwoods Fall Tree Talk

October 17 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Thursday October 17, 2019  from 7:30 – 9:00 PM

Neighbourwoods presents “The Role of Fungi in the Urban Environment” with guest speaker Kyle McLoughlin.

The cost is free for Neighbourwoods members, $5 for non-members.  Everyone is welcome!

Understanding the role trees play in our developing urban landscape is critical. Fungi however are often overlooked, even by the professionals. This talk will discuss the anatomy of mushrooms, the role of a risk assessor in urban forestry management, and the ways fungi can affect trees. Join us to learn more about the role of fungi in maintaining the health of urban trees.

About the speaker: Kyle McLoughlin is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture Ontario Chapter education committee. He has delivered numerous workshops and lectures on plant pathology and the relationship between trees and fungus. Kyle is the owner and Practicing Arborist of Ironwood Arboricultural Solutions, and has practiced arboriculture in Canada, the United States, and Australia.

Neighbourwoods thanks their 2019-20 Tree Talk Sponsor, the Elora-Salem Horticultural Society, for their support.
