A CREATIVE WORKSHOP FOR KIDS WITH ERIN PERRY
Get ready for a deliciously fun art-making experience with no ovens, no utensils, and definitely no bites. In this playful hands-on workshop, led by artist and educator Erin Perry, young artists will explore the world of food-inspired art, creating colourful, imaginative treats that look good enough to eat but are made entirely from art materials!
From sculpted sushi and glittery cupcakes to giant candy collages and faux sundaes, this session is packed with creative projects that celebrate colour, texture, and whimsy. Kids will experiment with materials like clay, tissue paper, modelling paste, foam, beads, and more as they build their own inedible masterpieces.
Whether designing a full mini menu, inventing a new snack brand, or making a still life of pretend food, participants will leave with unique artwork and big smiles. It’s all about imagination, mess-making, and the joy of playful creativity.
Come hungry to make art that looks good enough to eat!
All materials included.
Meet Erin!
I’m a sculptor and educator based in Elora, where I live and work with a studio practice focused on psychological self-portraiture. My work explores identity through visual fictions that transform psychological concerns into material form. I’m especially drawn to animals and surreal juxtapositions, which often appear in my work as intuitive symbols and unexpected combinations that challenge the boundaries between the internal and external world.
I’ve taught art to all ages in a variety of settings, from the Emily Carr University of Art + Design and Wilfrid Laurier to international schools in Aruba and workshops in Elora. I’m currently pursuing a degree in Art Psychotherapy, which is deepening both my practice and my approach to teaching.
