CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Artcetera is an annual fundraising event to benefit the Elora Centre for the Arts. The Elora Centre for the Arts invites submissions from artists, jewelers and fine craftspeople working in all mediums for this year’s Artcetera, An Evening with Art event taking place on May 10, 2014. This year’s event takes a fresh, new approach with participating artists each donating one original work of art. Artcetera 2014 will be a special gala night complete with all the fabulous fixings. In return for donating to Artcetera, An Evening with Art, artists will enjoy the benefits of an Artist’s Package. This is a “give-back to the artist” program in exchange for your generosity. As a donor artist, here’s what you will receive: A tax receipt based upon the value of the donated art piece at a minimum retail value of $250.

Artist Party on the evening of May 9, 2014 to celebrate the artists. There will be drinks, hors d’oeuvres and an opportunity to celebrate with your family, friends and fellow artists and sponsors. It will be a great night and a special way to publically acknowledge your participation.

Featured Artist Page Online Promotion. Over the 75 days prior to the event, the Elora Centre for the Arts will release to its members, patrons, sponsors and email recipients a daily Featured Artist e-blast, highlighting one individual artist in the event. Here is an example of what the Featured Artist page looks like. Your page includes your image, bio, URL link and 3 images of your work. We will also further promote Featured Artists via social media – Facebook and Twitter.

Holiday Exhibition 2014. The Elora Centre for the Arts will host a two-week exhibition held in the main floor galleries of the Art Centre in honor of the artists who supported Arctera, An Evening with Art. Artists will be invited to display a selection of small works with all sale proceeds going directly to the artists. The Holiday Exhibition will include a special Opening Night scheduled for Thursday, December 4. The exhibition will run from December 4 to December 20, 2014.

Call for Entry Criteria

Submissions may be of any medium provided that they are original works of art. All forms of original two-dimensional, three-dimensional and functional artwork as well as jewelry, created within the past two years will be accepted. Reproductions of artworks are not considered to be original. Two-dimensional artwork must be mounted or framed, wired and ready for hanging.

Artcetera 2014 is open to all artists who are residents of Canada.

Each artist may submit a maximum of two original pieces.

Photographic or computer generated, digital artwork must be signed, limited edition, numbered prints, with a maximum of 10 prints made of the image, in any size.

Elora Centre for the Arts reserves the right to jury submissions and final acceptance will be determined by the Artcetera 2014 committee.

Application Process

Applications to Artcetera 2014 can be made using the Artcetera 2014 Artist Online Submission Form. Please note: to submit this form, all required information fields must be completed. This includes your contact information, artist bio and photo, and jpeg images of up to three examples of your artwork to be promoted on your Artcetera 2014, Featured Artist Page. 300dpi digital images of your artwork, clearly labeled as instructed below as well as a photo image of yourself.

Artist Bio and Statement – a short written description, max 400 words.

Artwork arriving at the Elora Centre for the Arts must be clearly labeled with the artist’s name, title of the piece, year finished and medium.
